Memphis Trade Mission

In March of this year the Latino Breakfast Club (LBC) in fulfilling its mission as Bridge Builders and Peacemakers, traveled to Memphis, Tennessee in conjunction with Major League Baseball's "Civil Rights Weekend".

Memphis played host to Major League Baseball's 2nd Annual Civil Right Game. This year's game included our very own Chicago Whitesox playing the New York Mets.

An array of our business owners traveled by bus, provided by Mr. Warner Cruz of JC Restoration to the historic city of Memphis.  During our visit we attended the MLB game and visited the Civil Rights Museum.  This year happened to be the 40 anniversary of Dr. M.L. King's assassination.  This contributed to the profound and historic impact of our trip.

On the business side, the LBC was able to build a bridge for our firms looking to do business in the state of  Tennessee, the City of Memphis and nationally as well.  We were blessed by God's grace and provision to introduce our firms to such entities and organizations as: International Paper, Major League Baseball, the Chicago Whitesox, the Memphis Chamber of Commerce, Memphis Light & Gas, Mid-South Minority Business Council and the State of Tennessee.

We were also blessed to connect with the Abundant Grace Fellowship Church in Memphis and Faith Outreach Church in Clarksville, Tennessee.

We look forward to which city the Lord will guide and direct us to in 2009.

 Indianapolis Trade Mission

In March of 2006, the Latino Breakfast Club initiated a Trade Mission to the city of Indianapolis, Indiana.  With the assistance of former Mayoral Aide, Ricardo Gambetta, the LBC took 30 Latino-owned firms to Indianapolis for the purposes of business development and relationship building.

In addition, as part of the LBC's mission to be "Bridge Builders" the LBC invited the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association (HACIA) to join us on this trip.

During our brief stay the LBC was able to introduce its firms to such entities such as: the City of Indianapolis, the State of Indiana, the Indiana State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, LatinUS Group, Indianapolis Board of Economic Development, the office of Governor Mitch Daniels, the office of Senator Evan Bayh, Fifth Third Bank, National City Bank, Indianapolis International Airport and Ivy Tech Community College.

The City of Indianapolis hosted a reception for our delegation and presented Keys to the City to both the LBC and HACIA.  The reception was covered by the local press including TV, newspaper and radio.

We continue to maintain our relationships with our Brothers/Sisters in the City of Indianapolis including but not limited to, the State of Indiana Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Northwest Indiana Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
